The House of Coffee has purchased open market coffees since its origin in 1984. We have always used small trusted suppliers and avoided the vast pan-continental conglomerates that trade on lowest cost solutions.
We live in a more connected world than we did in 1984. Unsustainable consumption and the poverty that some people suffer has never been more evident.
And so we are very pleased to support the Fairtrade Organisation for two reasons: They help to protect the planet and improve the lives of many people and equally importantly they can negotiate and lobby toe to toe with an ethical agenda at a very heavy weight.
