Pear Macerated Elephant Bean

£8.00

We have a very limited quantity of this nanolot that comes from the Finca Idealista Farm of Benjamin Weiner in Matagalpa, Nicaragua.

The Farm is a member of The Golden Mountain Coffee Growers Association, founded by Ben. The Association sells directly to roasters, such as House of Coffee, allowing the growers to obtain a fair price for their exceptional product.

Double Fermentation Pear Maceration: An abundant pear harvest, arising at the same time as coffee picking, allows the opportunity to ferment the ripe coffee cherries in tropical pears. A unique and tropical note producing fermentation.

Elephant Bean: Is so called because the beans are more than double the size of a typical bean. The beans only grow in this region and it is nature, not humans, that make them so big. We do name them however, and this varietal is called YELLOW PACAMARA.

Characteristics of the Coffee: If good coffee ‘should paint a picture on the tongue’* then this is a Monet. Pastels and subtlety. It’s not bitter or sour. It’s candy and sweet fruit and the right amount of body. It’s refreshing and bright. Best appreciated, we suggest, when all is calm and peaceful and time for a treat.

We recommend this for Cafetiere and Filter. (15g/cup. 3 mins in a caf’re)

We only sell this in 110g bags due to the small quantity available to us and the desire to make it available to as many people as possible. (110g=7 cups)
